Job Description
- Administrate the DBs and perform all the required maintenance routine.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of DB availability and performance.
- Maintain backup and redundancy strategies.
- Provide second level support and troubleshoot.
- Write and maintain custom SQL scripts
- Assisting in database design
- Updating and amending existing databases
- Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems
- Monitoring database efficiency
- Sustaining the security and integrity of data
- Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted
- Training colleagues in how to input and extract data
Job Requirements
- BC’s degree in Computer science or equivalent studies.
- 3 years of practical experience.
- Very good in English, speaking and writing.
- Knowledge of 'relational database management systems' (RDBMS), 'object oriented database management systems' (OODBMS) and XML DBMS
- Solid experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL DB administration.
- Experience with DB replication, hardening and performance optimization
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing
- Understanding and writing SQL scripts
- Experience with No-SQL DB is a plus
