Job Description

Management

  • Manage the effective achievement of HSE objectives through the leadership of the HSE staff– setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise subordinate and the performance of the HSE section
  • Individual objectives, training and development plans in place for all direct reports
  • Frequency of feedback & appraisal meetings

Budgets and Plans

  • Prepare and recommend the HSE budget and monitor financial performance of his factory versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
  • Budgets and plans are executed timely and accurately in line with the annual budget parameters and timescales
  • Financial variance versus budget

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Recommend improvements to HSE department policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of the department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service
  • Compliance with procedural and legislative requirements

Day to Day Operations

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of HSE section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures
  • Day-to-day operations are consistent with established policies, processes and procedures
  • Follow the daily performance of HSE technicians and supervisors for each shift, providing instructions and raising their performance levels.
  • Train all employees on specialized and general programs that help raise the HSE Culture among the company
  • Provide HSE Induction for all new employees
  • Insure new employee subjected to on-job training
  • Provide solutions for problems and limitations that face the performance of the HSE function
  • Opened communication channels with new updates.
  • Well trained and awareness of staff.
  • Compliance with standards and policies.
  • Provide recommendations on the awareness policy and educating employees through seminars, workshops, stickers and pamphlets.
  • Participate with HR team to define the governmental training and required training for technicians and members of the HSE committee & other technical requirements
  • Develop the safety signs as for location, effectiveness and quality and replacing the outdated ones with standard panels.

Job Requirements

Internal Communication:

  • All departments.

External Communication:

  • Governmental sectors –HSE equipment's suppliers, fire protection suppliers, SHE consultants, Pest control providers, environmental measurements agencies & civil defence

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree of scientific practical.

Certificates:

  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • Civil defence course
  • NIOSH courses (Safety committee members & safety specialist)
  • OSHA General Industries.
  • First aid course.

Experience:

  • 5 - 8 years relevant experience in HSE including at least 3 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree of scientific practical is a must.
