Job Description
The Microsoft Data&AI Consulting Practice is looking for Solution Architects (DIGD) with deep experience in enabling transformational solutions with Artifical Intelligence, Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics and integrated data.
The role requires a broad range of industry and technology knowledge and a minimum of 10 years’ implementation experience. The ideal candidate has a background envisioning, proposing and making change happen with production solutions at enterprise scale, for both, commercial and public customers.
Responsibilities
- Life as an Architect in Data & AI is one of a continuing strive for excellence. From pre-sales activities
- in envisioning workshops and designing target state architectures, through to delivery and helping customers realise the business value of those designs. We shape what can be – not what has been.
- A typical working day involves working with clients – either on-site or remotely. During any given day, we can go from conversing on the most modern Artificial Intelligence use-cases, to detailed data modelling discussions.
- We can be found acting as trusted advisors to our clients (internally and externally), promoting our company and domain brands, whilst also writing Architecture design documents, providing inputs to Statements of Work
- and estimates.
- We are expected to bring thought leadership, innovation, technical governance and also ensure risk mitigation.

Examples of the kinds of technical skills that would be great for the role:
Desirable Have:
- End-to-end Microsoft BI & Data stack: SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, Azure DW, Azure ML, Analytics Platform Server, HD Insight, Stream Insight, SharePoint BI, PowerPivot, PowerView, Excel
- ETL technologies: at least one of the following: SSIS, Talend, Pentaho, Informatica, etc
- Data Science and Analytical tools, languages, or libraries: SAS, SPSS, R, Mahout, MatLab)
In absence of MSFT skills above, can have:
- Big Data stack: Spark, Hadoop, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, Hbase, Flume, Kafka, Storm
- High-scale or distributed RDBMS (PDW, RedShift, Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Aster Data, Vertica, Object based storage, MemSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure (e.g. Azure, Amazon Web Services EC2,Google cloud platform) and considerations for scalability ,availability and security in distributed systems
Evidence of:
- External speaking – conferences, linkedin articles, blogs/whitepapers, patents.
