Job Description

Business Development Associate Job Description

  • We are looking for an energetic Business Development Associate to help drive our sales and grow the business. Identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers. Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. Works with marketing, sales, and product development teams to implement business development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the management team on executing strategy and operational plan as it relates to building new channels and partnerships;
  • Regularly monitor national, regional and international trends in microfinance, FinTech, and digital financial services trends and best practices;
  • Work closely with the management team to develop and adapt the strategy to changing the market environment;
  • Identify external sources of client data, assess the possibility of entering into partnerships with the organizations willing to share/sell their data (ensuring the consent of the clients), and transform these data into business intelligence;
  • Identify and foster a partnership with payment service providers to enable loan servicing using digital channels. This will involve working closely with the technology team to ensure that FMF has the necessary software, hardware, and network infrastructure to accommodate a successful partnership;
  • Explore the option of partnering with an e-wallet service provider to offer an expense-tracking platform to clients; this will involve working with a partner, training the branch staff, and designing an educational campaign for the clients;
  • Identify and foster partnerships with companies that currently maintain receivables or deferred due payments with microentrepreneurs;
  • Work with respective departments (IT, Operations, Risk etc) to ensure successful implementation of these partnerships and delivery of corresponding new products and services.
  • Research and recommend new productivity and business soft wares and applications;
  • Manage the online presence of FMFC and keep it updated.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field.
  • 1-2 years' relevant work experience in business development or similar field preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Friendly and personable demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to work independently but within the strategic framework
  • Good business acumen
