Job Description

Job Purpose

Ensures and follow up the implementation and maintenance of effective EHS
management system for Giza Site, in order to comply with local legislation and GSK Corporate EHS standards. Manage the EHS inspections and reporting findings,
recommendations and areas for improvement to concerned people. Increase EHS
awareness and contribution within GMS to achieve objectives and targets. Follow up EHS programs and projects, to ensure compliance with time schedule and continual improvement of performance

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure & report EHS performance of sub-contractors based on both active and pro-active KPI
  • Represent EHS in new projects and upgrades on Site, ensure the provision of EHS advice to project teams, dealing with outside contractors, taking account of statutory and corporate requirements and site business objectives and approve MS&RA (method statement & risk assessment) for all non-routine activities occurred in the site
  • Advise, assist and monitor site personnel to ensure that the site maintains the best EHS performance and report to Managers gaps and areas of improvements. Promote and encourage achieving high level of awareness to maintain current legislation, updates, corporate requirements and industry best practice between EHS coordinators and other EHS teams.
  • Identify, investigate and report on root causes of incidents/accidents and EHS compliance deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions for future improvements.
  • Improve EHS Levels of compliance and evaluate suppliers/contractor performance regarding EHS Issues.
  • Approve MS/RA of the non-routine activities for both GSK & contractors
  • Develop, in consultation with site(s) Leadership, strategies to develop a positive safety culture within the organization
  • Ensure communication of the emergency plan to all employees & interested parties.
  • Supervise pest control activities on site
  • Support Health and Wellbeing program

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering
  • From 3 to 5 years experience in EHS field including implementing / development programs in multinational company.
  • Experience or certified internal lead auditor for ISO 45001, 14001 or GSK audit essentials
  • Strong knowledge and experience in risk assessments , incident investigation,
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate with regulatory authorities , multiple levels within the company through various format i.e. presentation , written proposal , reports , leading meeting and face to face dialogue
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Good Analytical skills
  • Good planning and organizing skills
  • Proven ability to interpret site needs and translate these into a coherent programme of work.
  • Good problem-solving Techniques and decision making skills
  • General PC skills, e.g. Word, Excel and Power-point
  • Effective time management
  • Good command of English language written and spoken
