Job Description
- Set guidelines for the team to follow in negotiating supplier contracts.
- Review department objectives and assign individual objectives (such as sales turnover, other income,..) to every category manager to consider in their contracts.
- Validate contracts before activation and assist in negotiations as needed
- Extract reports and collect data necessary to review weekly actual results versus budget in terms of gross margin, other income and sales turnover; take corrective actions to direct results and impose preventive measures as needed.
- Set a contingency plan for the section to avoid accumulated loss.
- Validate promotions proposed by category manager through assessing all aspects of the promotion to guarantee positive results (aspects such as variety, prices, exclusivity, KVI, repetition)
- Allocate rent space for tenants and negotiate permanent consignments agreements adhering to company standards and maximizing profits (coordinate with marketing department)
- Receive quarterly market survey on KVI list from category manager; review results and develop action plan to maintain/improve price positioning in alignment with company strategy
- Ensure healthy level of stock is maintained and full range of items available; conduct regular shop visits, support category manager team to secure supply of limited items (such as imports) and support the team in liquidating overstock.
- Facilitate communication between trading team and other departments; resolve conflicts and provide assistance as needed.
- Develop negotiation skills of the team and decision making skills.
- Prepare and present to management consolidated reports showing invoice margin, other income, discount percentage, rebates and all other factors within scope on monthly and quarterly basis.
- Assist Marketing department in developing annual marketing calendar and signs off on stock take results
- Recruit, train and motivate team. Conduct regular team meetings to share results, provide continuous constructive feedback. Recommend necessary training for the team.

- Minimum 10 years experience in similar role
