Job Description

Job Purpose:

An Application Support Engineer is an IT professional who provides technical support regarding a spectrum of software used within a specific business sector.

Due to this broad definition, the core responsibilities of an Application Support Engineer vary depending on the industry.

Some Application Support Engineers are responsible for database management, while others put more emphasis on the programming end of an application.

The specific focus is dependent on the needs of the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support for SIS application to ensure that the application systems is ruining well .
  • Provide support for SIS application configuration and upgrades, and problem analysis and resolution for SIS application problems.
  • Undertake SIS application problem analysis and resolution for application problems in conjunction with the users and application suppliers.
  • Assist with implementation of SIS application projects. Provide technical input where required.
  • Analyze data from systems and produce technical and business reports for consumption by departmental managers.
  • Directly provide user training.
  • Proactively manage data quality in some systems
  • Maintain interfaces, exports and imports, and ensure their smooth running.
  • Manage interfaces, defined operational system processes and data extracts.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Computer Science or related.
  • Experience: 0-3 years and preferably previous experience in universities,academic organizations.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL Databases & basic network configuration
  • Working Knowledge of IT Hardware and Software
  • Complex problem solving
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to diagnose & address application issues
