Job Description
- Resolve daily operational matters pertaining to supplier, carrier, and inbound shipments (Assign approved carriers for transportation; Provide rate quotes for nonstandard transportation, i.e. expedite shipments; Ensure on-time pickup and delivery, track and trace inbound shipments; Perform spot consolidation; Apply routing guides and ensure supplier compliance; Buy as needed on the spot market).
- Timely review, audit, and processing of carrier invoices.
- Reconcile inbound shipments to PO’s.
- Facilitate carrier operations and delivery appointments.
- Maintain shipment histories and document files.
- Oversee supplier compliance (Pre-notice of shipments, On-time delivery; Proper packaging and labeling).
- Work with carriers & suppliers to resolve issues and file freight claims.
- Work with carriers, suppliers, and CHG to ensure on-time delivery service levels exceed expectation.
- Identify and report to opportunities to streamline inbound freight management.
- Update management on Inbound Freight metrics, and on KPI.
