Job Description

The vacancy will be closed in September 22nd, 2019

1- Participate in an orientation meeting to discuss the project and discuss/clarify the scope of work (1 day)
2- Develop a detailed work plan of the assignment including activities, deliverables, and time frame (1 day)
3- Workplan implementation

3.1 Conduct a desk review of existing literature outlining how gender inequality affects family planning in Egypt, including the legislative, legal, and regulatory framework. The report should include a summary of the findings, and a list of the sources consulted. The report should also include a stakeholder inventory of individuals and/or organizations working and active in gender-related issues in Egypt. (10 days)

3.2 Review and synthesize SEFPP’s relevant documents including any strategic documents, annual work plans, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plan (3 days)

3.3 Develop SEFPP’s gender mainstreaming strategy including a clear workplan for implementation (20 days)

3.4 Conduct a workshop to present the finding of the desk review and strategy to SEFPP staff (1 day)

3.5 Revise the strategy and desk review documents (strategy report, desk review report, and accompanying presentations in English and Arabic) based on the feedback and recommendations from the meetings and provide revised versions for review and approval. (3 days)

3.6 Final submissions and approval discussions (1 day)

Job Requirements

  • Expert Required Experience
  • At least 10 year of experience in gender area with specific experience in gender mainstreaming
  • Demonstrated experience in evidence-based social and applied research;
  • Knowledge of project cycle management;
  • Experience with International funded programs
  • Expert Desired Experience:
  • Experience in the context of family planning and reproductive health in Egypt/Region is an asset
  • Knowledge of basics of Monitoring and Evaluation, including M&E Framework and Indicators development.
  • Experience with USAID will be an asset.
  • Expert Qualifications and Skills:
  • University Degree in a relevant field
  • Computer and Office package literate
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English (written and spoken)
