Job Description

Before the launch of a new service

  • Undertake market due diligence
  • Competition environment analyses, RACI matrix along with deliverable timelines,
  • Approvals required and legal clearance and required external stakeholders
  • Research supply and map out supply landscape
  • Market sizing exercise. High-level research on demand/consumer appetite.
  • Co-creating the launch plan (project management)

After the launch

  • Identity, sign and onboard new suppliers who will provide our underlying new services
  • Managing relationships with existing suppliers and/or vendors
  • Designing incentive programs for suppliers/vendors /suppliers to meet KPIs while being efficient with budgets
  • Identifying and solving local problems swiftly and independently where possible
  • Continually assess the quality of service and undertake initiatives to improve processes and practices

Reporting

The role reports into the Assistant General Manager - New Ventures. As a Category Lead your daily deliverables will require working closely with various team members in Qatar primarily Supply & Operations.

In the earlier stages of each new venture, a large portion of your time will be spent identifying, meeting, pitching with management. Later on your time will primarily focus on working with suppliers and/or vendors to get these new ventures up and running.

As a new venture matures, your time will be split between managing supplier relations, building a strong supply funnel to support future growth

We look for Category Leads that are passionate and highly driven and do whatever it requires to achieve our ambitious growth targets. Above all, this role requires that you own the entire customer experience from booking to completion. Category Leads must be able to quickly iterate to ensure any service under New Ventures has a strong product market fit and is attractive to consumers.

This role is based in Doha, Qatar with occasional travel to Dubai for training and collaborating with colleagues.


Key Performance Indicators

The results by which you will assess effectiveness at transacting the job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Growth in monthly suppliers/vendors/Captains providing the underlying service (to support expansion)
  • Timely launch of service
  • % Fulfillment rate and Customer throughput (% of customer who convert i.e. book the service)
  • Quality of service (as measured by customer ratings, feedback, and repeat transactions)
  • Time to arrival and time to completion of service (when applicable)

Job Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and creativity.
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google sheets.
  • Project management: can oversee and see from ideation to execution within deadlines and work with several departments at once
  • Speak Arabic (preferred)
