Job Description
- Create shipping documentation for international shipments, supporting on domestic shipments as needed.
- Coordinate freight pick-up arrangements with logistics companies, for international shipments.
- Monitor upcoming shipment schedules, looking ahead for potential capacity bottlenecks and notifying Logistics Manager so that appropriate staffing can be planned.
- Work as a member of the Logistics team to ensure customer orders ship on-time and complete
- Track and trace shipments that are in-transit
- Follow operating procedures and promote continual improvement within the department and the company
- Manage the quality, quantity and efficiency of shipments
- Ensure that daily goals are met and sustained daily/weekly/monthly
- Report any discrepancies of damaged shipments, customs issues, and ensure shipments are properly sent to their correct destination and on time
- Maintain freight expenses and review invoices. Report any changes or billing issues with the department management team and Accounting Department
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel,
- Knowledge of and experience with international shipping, bookings, documentation and transportation functions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Sense of urgency and ownership
- Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple and changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability and willingness to take initiative
- Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her ability
- 2-3 years of experience minimum
