Job Description
- Supports research for new materials to be used with inlay products whether for carpentry, inlay or polishing
- Responsible for the procurement of samples, materials and supplies related to product development (design and new materials).
- Works with designers on designing specific designs for the new materials.
- Liaises between designers and artisans and ensures/follow up on their production and quality.
- Coordinates production activities to ensure they are completed on time and to the specified criteria.
- Responsible for inventory and orders and supervision of shipment and delivery.
- Conducts periodic meetings with the project manager as well as with artisans.
- Responsible for managing relationships with workshops.
- Leads process improvement initiatives-quality assurance, including management of improvement projects.
- Responsible of workshops upgrading activities.
- Assists with interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, work instructions, manuals, procedures, and/or specifications, specifications, charts, and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Without exceeding 10% of workload, some other tasks may be required.
Job Requirements
- Graduates of Art Education are encouraged to apply, Fine Arts or Applied Arts Graduates are also welcome
- Interest in Egyptian cultural products like artisan products and handcrafts
- Knowledge of Design softwares
- Experience in dealing with artisans
- Knowledge of the supply chain of handicraft products
