Job Description

HSSE, IM & BCM Leadership

  • Manage HSSE, IM & BCM requirements at an area level. To ensure Global HSSE, IM & BCM frameworks & local requirements are implemented through own actions and by ‘Site HSSE focal points’.
  • Ensure coordination of ‘Site HSSE focal points’ work and their application of Maersk HSSE, IM and BCM standards including maintaining an overview of all sites within Area geography and list of corresponding ‘Site HSSE focal points’ assigned to those sites.
  • Interpret the Corporate HSSE, IM & BCM strategy to co-create appropriate plans at Area and site level considering the risk profile, regulatory framework and business drivers.
  • Assure critical controls are identified and a control effectiveness and maintenance plan is developed and implemented
  • Defining the HSSE, IM and BCM requirements of contractors and vendors and assuring provision in contracts, and conformance of contractors at their place of work in line with directions from centre HSE, Security, crisis and BCM functions.
  • Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support across the functionalities.
  • Advise the business in a timely manner on all HSSE, IM & BCM legislative and best practice developments.

HSSE, IM & BCM Framework/Programs

  • Accountable to design HSSE, IM and BCM SOPs needed to comply with the local requirements and liaise with Area and Country business management for implementation.
  • Conducts risk assessments and ensure corrective and preventive measures are undertaken as well as controls and barriers are put in place.
  • Investigates, analyses and reviews all HSSE incidents high potential Near Misses and unsafe practices within the area. Report all incidents to the centre according to the define framework.
  • Conduct post incident reviews for all Lv.2 incidents as a minimum, share findings with centre.
  • Conduct lessons learned review sessions for all BCP activations, share findings with centre.
  • Conduct HSSE and BCM audits of own as well as partner facilities as per global programs.
  • Drive HSSE and BCM audit/exercise/testing process for facilities and vendors & follow-up to ensure adequate performance. Maintain evidence and share with center.
  • Provide appropriate support to handle the DG shipment and ensure adequate training to the respective team in coordination with CENOPS DG

Training/Culture

  • Roll out HSSE, IM and BCM training framework within area and support centre and local business management to define local training requirements.
  • Responsible to design & facilitate the HSSE, IM and BCM Area training modules in coordination with respective centre functions.
  • Drive initiatives towards cultural transformation across the area/ functionalities (e,g, Safety Differently, BCM improvement plan etc.).
  • Influence, engage and support Senior Managers and personnel in developing the safety and resilience culture.
  • Implement best practices by embedding strategic HSSE, IM and BCM elements in business unit operating and resourcing plans.

Business support/opportunities

  • Identify and/or mature HSSE, IM and BCM Commercial Opportunities and consult centre team where required.
  • Provide HSSE, IM and BCM support to area commercial for local or single geography RFQs. Consult with respective Centre functions for deviations.
  • Focal point for all HSSE, IM and BCM matters within the area including consultancy for the customer requests.
  • Manage internal and external relationship and create and maintain a stakeholder map.
  • Providing support for claims and compliance efforts.
  • Support and participate as subject matter expert in area of business continuity and crises management. Act as focal point for BCM in Area and as Incident coordination in the IMT.
  • Partner with central sustainability team and Centre HSE to drive initiatives towards environment management.

HSSE, IM & BCM Performance

  • Responsible to share HSSE KPIs to the area business management on the set frequency.

  • Good understanding of risk management principles and application of barriers and critical controls
  • Understand how to adapt logistics activities, flows, relationships and address constraints
  • Ability to drive initiatives through cross functional teams
  • Fluency in English and preference for local language spoken and written
  • Facilitation skills and ability to influence.
  • Ability to drive alignment with the key stakeholders.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High ethical standards.
