Job Description
- Develop disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets such as data centers.
- Develop contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies.
- Test documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.
- Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
- Assess risks to business operations.
- Develop emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shut-down of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.
- Develop contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies.
- Review existing disaster recovery, crisis management, or business continuity plans.
- Establish, maintain, or test call trees to ensure appropriate communication during disaster.
- Interpret government regulations and applicable codes to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate applicable laws and regulations to determine impact on organizational activities.
- Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives.
- Create business continuity and disaster recovery budgets.
- Conduct or oversee collection of corporate intelligence to avoid fraud, financial crime, cyber-attack, terrorism, and infrastructure failure.
- Recommend or implement methods to monitor, evaluate, or enable resolution of safety, operations, or compliance interruptions.
Job Requirements
- ISO 22301 Certified.
- +10 Years experience in Business continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated leadership role in business continuity and disaster recovery operations, evaluations, workflow analysis, and business systems terminology and standards.
- Demonstrated experience with project management processes and tools and in managing and delivering projects timely.
- Knowledgeable on BC/DR industry best practices to include:
- Disaster Recovery technology/infrastructure practices. (i.e. Virtualization/Data Storage Technology Capabilities)
- Conducting Business Impact Analysis, to include understanding risk management principles
- Documenting Business Continuity Plans based on gathered business requirements and feedback, also leveraging potential risks associated with business until practices.
- Excellent quantitative, statistical, and data analysis and interpretative skills.
- Expert knowledge of administrative systems, applications, office and testing tools in a business environment. Expertise with PC based office tools, such as Microsoft Office. Experience with Web navigation and software.
- Broad knowledge of insurance products, the insurance industry, related legislation, and business operation procedures and practices.
