Job Description

  • Establish 1-3-5 year category strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams, negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize Amazon’s competitive position.
  • Drive appropriate commercial relationships with category suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving the lowest total cost of ownership that meets the business’ goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with cost & performance benchmarks in use.
  • Manage category suppliers to proactively identify, monitor and optimize opportunities.
  • Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed.
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technologies.
  • Drive category suppliers in Supplier Relationship Management activities to mitigate risk, improve performance and add value to Amazon.
  • Build total cost of ownership models and determine opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base, using smart analytical tools and techniques.
  • Implement an invoicing, cost control and Monthly/Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) process with suppliers.
  • Align with internal customers and understand the business application of the category.
  • Drive due diligence with legal and tax teams.
  • Own and maintain the category playbook.
  • Develop supplier performance management program(s) to monitor progress against defined SLA's and contractual commitments.
  • Negotiation and implementation of supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
  • Helping to develop long-term department strategies and significantly influencing the cross-company project development and delivery processes and standards.
  • Keys to success in this role include sound judgement and excellent written/verbal communication skills. The candidate should be able to extract insights from data and be able to communicate appropriately.

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience, to include at minimum 5 years in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation with global contracts.
  • 6+ years of in-depth procurement practices (category management, bench-marking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.).
  • Education: BS/BA Degree in related field.
  • Fluency in Arabic

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree (MBA/MS)
  • CIPS Qualification
  • Strong negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
  • Can assess risk and concisely explain complex issues to principal business owners.
  • Extremely customer-focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Passionate self-starter.
