About the Job

  • The chief engineer is responsible for keeping the resort in good condition, within the budget allocated for maintenance. Owner and hotel guests’ maximum satisfaction should be his target, together with keeping infrastructure in perfect condition
  • As Chief Engineer, you are responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel and resort, including energy conservation.
  • You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards. Specifically, a Chief Engineer will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the Maintenance Team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the resort and hotel, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules
  • Communicate with Housekeeping and other departments to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities for Guest rooms and public areas
  • Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members, as well as the proper conditions for plants, machinery, and property
  • Communicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations
  • Prepare Capital and Repairs & Maintenance budgets for Engineering
  • Identify and introduce environmentally-friendly systems and equipment
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Maintenance Department and take corrective action, as required, to improve equipment inventory, quality audit, productivity, and other objectives
  • Manage all Team Member related activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, career planning, disciplinary matters, and team motivation
  • Define the framework and areas of KIN FIX maintenance and preventive maintenance and develop the appropriate programs for its implementation.
  • Oversees and manages programs and special protection devices to maintain hardware and data
  • Supervising and working on the maintenance and repair of machines and machines used in the production process.
  • Supervision and work on the maintenance of facilities and equip them with necessary extensions and infrastructure.
  • Identification of the requirements of the materials and equipment required for maintenance department and its request from the Procurement Department.
  • Work on applying the quality procedures in force in the company.
  • Work on documenting maintenance operations and opening a special file for each machine on its own to know its cost.
  • To present a plan for addressing owner complaints
  • To present a monthly report to management
  • Perform any other work assigned to him within the limits of his duties and responsibilities.

Main areas of responsibility include:

  • All Hotel rooms and facilities like swimming pools, restaurants, kitchen etc.
  • Service area maintenance including electric generator, sewage treatment plant
  • Fresh water and electric supply networks
  • Electric, water, sewage infrastructure maintenance
  • Roads, walkways and retaining walls
  • Hard and soft landscape and roads
  • Lighting of landscape and roads
  • Beach maintenance

Job Requirements

Our Chief Engineer would always be working on behalf of our guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow

  • A degree in Engineering or similar, required
  • A trade qualification or similar training, preferred
  • Experience in a senior position with extensive working knowledge of Engineering operations, preferably in the hotel industry
  • Current knowledge of modern trends and applications in the field of Engineering
  • Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting
  • Strong leadership skills and previous experience of managing a team
  • Proficient, at an advanced level, with computers and relevant computer programs
