    Intellectual property theft in today’s digital age is becoming ever more prevalent and complex. It costs governments and companies a lot more than a first glance would suggest. Much worse are the consumers deceived by counterfeit products. Consumers not only lose financially but sometimes also lose their lives as counterfeits can range from high end luxury goods to life saving drugs and car parts.

Job Description:

  • Providing secretarial support to a Patent and Trademark Attorneys.
  • Preparing and filing trademark applications.
  • Analyzing and reviewing local and foreign trademark files.
  • Conducting trademark searches and other related transactions.
  • Diary management.
  • Maintaining filing systems.
  • Diagnosing important case dates.
  • Time recording.
  • Maintaining in-house databases.
  • Receiving clients’ instructions to submit trademarks applications.
  • Inserting client’s trademarks details in our in-house system.
  • Submission of trademarks applications in various countries according to the client’s instructions.
  • Monitoring and keeping track of deadlines.
  • Formal work and submission of trademarks applications.
  • Following up and corresponding with various bodies, including but not limited to associates, agents, and governmental departments.
  • Updating clients with their portfolio status.
  • Management and archiving of files.
  • Replying to communications received from clients regarding their portfolios via mail, email, and phone, and Dealing with our in-house system to send reports and statistics to clients.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in petitions.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English language.
  • Knowledge of the procedures needed at the ministry.
  • Formal communication skills, and the ability to write and compose formal letters which will be a daily process to communicate with various bodies.
  • Knowledge of modern information technology and online services.
  • Ability to use the available technological resource (e.g. internet, computers, softwares) to extract information.
  • Excellent usage of a computer and its operating system (i.e. Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to coordinate with various entities at the same time.
  • Ability to manage and maintain several portfolios for various clients at the same time.
  • Good team player, honest, and willing to be cooperative with fellow colleagues.
