Job Description

Position Summary:

The Program Specialist will support the Exchanges Unit in administration of several United States Department of State exchange programs, scholarship assistance, social media promotions, translation services, as well as a day-to-day activities within the unit most importantly certification service and provide up-to-date information about the Egyptian educational system to Institutional Members and university representatives and assist the management in overseeing the implementation of all grant programs

(i.e. certifications, summer camps, and internships) and handling program details, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with public and private academic institutions and organizations to distribute information about exchange programs;
  • Assist the Programs Manager in overseeing the implementation of all grant programs (i.e. certifications, summer camps, and internships) and handling program details, and ensuring customer satisfaction;
  • Collaborate in the development of new exchange program concept papers and proposals that serve AMIDEAST’s mission, vision, and values for Egypt;
  • Contribute in the department strategic planning, goal setting and annual budget preparation as required;
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely technical, statistical, and financial reports to partners, donors, and to AMIDEAST HQ budget for all exchange programs as required;
  • Coordinate with AMIDEAST HQ, AMIDEAST Alexandria, and other AMIDEAST Field Offices as needed;
  • Review applications for completeness and eligibility and facilitate application review to identify semifinalists;
  • Communicate and update the Exchange programs Alumni database;
  • Organize Alumni events with Exchange department staff and other required parties;
  • Prepare for the American universities College Fair in Cairo with Exchange department staff and other required parties;
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective exchanges programs participants;
  • Contribute in identifying, screening, and orienting participants about the various exchanges programs;
  • Arrange interviews of semifinalists and finalize interviews logistics;
  • Communicate regularly via email and telephone with the finalists to provide updated information about program contents and arrangements;
  • Prepare and disseminate pre-departure briefing materials to finalists and follow up on the visa application process in a timely manner;
  • Maintain department processes in an efficient and effective manner;
  • Collaborate positively with other AMIDEAST departments (Education and Training, Testing, Customer Service);
  • Manage assigned projects online with participants
  • Maintain active network with local and international organizations and institutions involved in exchange programs and keep abreast of changes and developments in Egyptian public and private education to identify opportunities for AMIDEAST;
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for exchange programs including making housing arrangements and other administrative tasks when needed;
  • Register clients in the various in office information sessions;
  • E-Market for the Exchanges services among the exchanges programs alumni.

Job Requirements

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral English and Arabic communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Excellent presentation skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in administering entrepreneurship programs
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to organize and maintain large amount of detailed information
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and accept responsibility

Preferred:

  • Undergraduate degree from a U.S. or Canadian university
  • (PMP)
  • Previous experience/Knowledge in American Education System.
  • Post Graduate studies.
