Job Description
The Mental Health Coordinator is a full-time job working in an NGO specializing in mental health and psycho-social support to refugees and asylum seekers.
The Mental Health Coordinator has the overall responsibility for the organization’s psychiatric unit including:
- Member of the organization’s senior management and participate in administrative and program management;
- Supervisor for a team of psychiatrists and their clinical work in specialized psychiatric / psychotherapy clinics;
- Supervisor of multidisciplinary teams assisting mental health patients by joining psychiatry and community based psycho-social work;
- Supervisor of the counseling center for refugees;
- Facilitate response to psychiatric emergencies 24-7
- Organize psychiatric hospitalization for patients when needed;
- Train and supervise psycho-social staff about mental health issues;
- Facilitate cooperation with governmental and NGO partners;
- Monitoring and reporting of mental health activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree of Medicine and Surgery
- Master’s Degree or equivalent is preferred
- Excellent – Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Psychiatry.
- Interest to work with people from multiple cultures

- Availability to oversee emergency response
- Advanced clinical and psychotherapy skills
- Capacity to work under pressure
- Good computer and responsible reporting skills
- Good communication skills
