Job brief

We are looking for a Product Owner to organize, prioritize and assess work for our scrum team.

Product Owner responsibilities include gathering feature requests, scheduling releases and coordinating sprints. To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.

Ultimately, you’ll help us roll-out products that deliver our company’s vision.

Responsibilities

  • To be the Voice of the Customer/ Stakeholders by creating, maintaining and prioritizing the backlog.
  • Improve customer relationship by providing timely and accurate responses to their inquiries
  • Incorporate feature requests into product road-map
  • Develop user stories and define CLEAR acceptance criteria
  • Set sprint goals
  • Write acceptance tests
  • Plan releases and upgrades
  • Track and monitor project execution to make sure that the customer requirements are met.
  • Address production issues during sprints
  • Analyze preferences and requests of end users
  • Motivate and inspire development teams to achieve beyond what they imagined possible
  • Perform negotiations on project activities with customer when required.
  • Maintain and update a database of project related documents.
  • Inform management on customer needs and business opportunities.
  • Refine our agile methodology based on results and client feedback
  • Keep track of industry trends

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Between 2 to 4 years of work experience as a Product Owner, or similar role in software project management, or hands-on experience managing all stages of the software product life cycle
  • Team spirit and very good communication abilities
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proven ability to leverage analytics and quantitative methods to inform and influence decision-making
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and high growth environment
  • Experience with the latest internet trends and technologies

Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies and skill sets:

  • Openness to change and new information
  • Recognizes own strengths and weaknesses
  • Commitment to ‘speed wins’ philosophy
  • Highly ethical
  • Familiarity with agile is a plus

Nice to Have

  • Technical background with knowledge of software development is a plus
