Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Our company is looking for a Demo chef who has a good knowledge of different types of pastry and dessert, and a kitchen professional specialized in the making of pastries, desserts, ice cream, and chocolates. The Demo chef has the overall responsibilities of planning, preparing and delivering cooking demonstrations with a high degree of professionalism.
  • The Chef responsibilities include studying ingredients of the product, setting up recipes and preparing high-quality product. The responsibilities of the position include food preparation, kitchen demonstrations, preparing and revising material as needed, management of food production and service, and supporting a friendly and fun atmosphere for our customers.
  • Also responsible to create high quality pastries, ice cream and chocolate recipes with high standards and presentations in order to maintain quality standards and consistency of product.
  • The Chef will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings.
  • Supports customer-driven innovation by translating customer needs into viable culinary and product solutions.
  • Manages all day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers
  • Ensure excellent quality throughout the dessert offerings.
  • Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
  • Prepare pastries and desserts using different types of materials such as, icings, toppings etc. and ensure the food presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as pastries, ice cream and chocolate dishes following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Able to develop, designs, or creates new ideas and items.
  • Supervise and coordinate all pastry and dessert preparation and presentation.
  • Checks the quality of raw materials and food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays.
  • Monitor stocks for ingredients and raw materials, and make appropriate orders within budget.
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used in the kitchen.
  • Culinary representative to Sales and business development teams by doing on-site demonstrations.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • High skill level in Culinary Arts, kitchen demonstration and safety/sanitary practices.
  • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to introduce concepts to our customers.
  • Strong teamwork, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable and dependable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional culinary experience with basic ability to demonstrate along with a recognized degree/diploma in culinary arts
  • Previous instructional and kitchen demonstration experience preferred
  • ServSafe certification
