Job Description

As Procurement & Logistics Specialist, your main responsibilities will be;
Provide liaison between the LBU project management team and TMC Project manager, and execute all heavy lift and project cargo related transport management tasks on the LBU level.

  • Initiate and maintain close communication with Project Management in order to identify the transportation needs of the project
  • Develop shipping plan based on SCM procurement planning
  • Participate in tendering process
  • Advise TMC and heavy lift / project cargo provider of the documentation requirements and operating procedures specific to the LBU and the individual project (e.g. packing, marking, shipping and invoicing instructions) as far as applicable
  • Co-ordinate completion of required documentation from suppliers and LBU (e.g. Certificate of Origin, packing lists, proforma invoice)
  • Monitor project plan and advise affected parties of any changes
  • Represent T&L function in project kick-off and subsequent meetings
  • If necessary, travel to jobsite or loading site to supervise loading / unloading activities
  • Provide input to risk review and forwarder proposal review
  • Initiate rail clearances and monitor rail shipments

Job Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s’ degree in engineering, supply chain management, and/or logistics management from an accredited university/college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of project logistics, project freight management, or heavy lift transportation and customs
  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues from other functions, TMC planners as well as provider personnel
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel, MS Project and Outlook required
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of operational safety programs and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
  • Team player with flexibility in working different shifts
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at specified location
