Job Description

Job Summary:

  • As a core member of the content team in our Cairo office, the Arabic Copywriter/Editor will be responsible for writing fresh, compelling and relevant content for collateral, social and customer marketing campaigns, website content and internal communications.
  • The Copywriter will be the primary author and editor for a wide variety of materials on daily basis.
  • The role will collaborate and work closely with PR and Creative Department leaders to provide content development that aligns with Client's marketing strategies; work with Account Managers/Director, planners, and Art Directors to generate concepts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Creative Director and PR Services team to write, edit and proof creative copy and content for integrated campaigns including print, electronic, and digital. Types of copy shall include promotional, publicity, advertisements, mission, editorial, articles and instructional.
  • Serve as primary point person for creative writing in support of Creative and PR enablement. This includes campaign development based on identified projects/campaigns.
  • Responsible for strategic and conceptual development of messages, stories, editorial, and other types of internal and external communication.
  • Work collaboratively with the PR Head and Creative Services team to ensure all materials can support our customers in achieving their goals.
  • Work closely with associates from internal and external teams to identify key product/service differentiation. Includes what is important to the customer and uses this information to develop effective content to support client's Mission and seasonal campaign themes.
  • Understand and research competitive landscape for each campaign and service as part of campaign/content development.
  • Write persuasive and compelling copy and concepts guided by the Client's marketing strategy for all print and web-based communications; expertly proofreads and edits production-ready files.
  • Proofread materials for accuracy, correct use of grammar, punctuation and content. Ensure all documents and materials meet established content standards.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and perspective when vetting creative ideas; makes sound, timely decisions about the need to change work in progress and report to supervisor.
  • Conduct independent research to seek relevant and impactful data, stats and talking points to craft messaging and stories. Verify facts and sources making sure to follow policies and standards.
  • Manage assigned projects (project management – establishing timeline and budget) as required to achieve established goals and due dates.
  • Help to oversee and approve work done by the internal team & outside suppliers.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned by the Department head.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, Arabic, journalism, marketing or related field.
  • 5 years of professional writing experience as a marketing copywriter, newspaper editor or project manager, preferably in an advertising agency, or freelance business.
  • Advertising, communications or marketing background, with experience working with a premium brand a strong plus.
  • Diverse book of work and 2-3 years of copywriting experience in PR or Advertising.
  • Experience in media or publishing industry desirable.
  • Ability to concept and collaborate with Creative and other internal teams, including executive team; take constructive criticism and seek client/peer feedback.
  • Able to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the organization in both written and verbal communication.
  • Strict attention to detail, excellent grammar and copy-writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects independently; high degree of self-study and research acumen.
  • Able to conceptualize and execute projects, with a strong bias for action.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
