Job Description

An engineer in this role will be work directly with customers to assist with various technical questions and tackles complex problems regarding the use of the NI RF hardware like PXI, USRP, the UHD software driver, and the GNU Radio framework.

The Applications Engineering Team operates as the technical backbone of the organization by delivering high-quality technical support and customer proficiency programs, with a strong focus on retaining every customer, thus fueling repeat business for Smart Integrators.

Further, the Application Engineer works closely with Internal stakeholders like sales, marketing and operations for activities to ensure Customer Success and long-term business growth.

Candidates applying for this role must possess a deep technical understanding of Technology, Good knowledge of National Instruments Hardware and Software, Applications areas.

1- General DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting Customer Success (up to 70> of available time)
  • Ensure Customer Success by Providing High-Quality Technical Support to Customers via Phone/Email or onsite
  • Increase Customer Proficiency by delivering Customer Education Classes.
  • Manage customer issues for faster resolution and closure.
  • Deliver Technical Presentations at Marketing and Sales.
  • Closely work with Sales team to deliver customer competency improvement programs
  • Build and manage demos for marketing events and sales needs.
  • Function as subject-matter-expert on the Sales Process.

2- Core Responsibilities:

  • Use your skills and experience in the areas of software development, operating systems, data networking, signal processing, and DSP, wireless communications, and RF and microwave systems to work closely and directly with customers to understand their engineering challenges and problems.
  • Test, develop and debug their SDR applications.
  • Creating prototypes, demo systems, and example programs,
  • Engage customers in detailed technical discussions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely and be responsive to customers and colleagues.

  • Qualification: engineering degree In Communications and Electronics
  • Strong technical skills
  • Self-starter with ability to take ownership of projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with analog and digital electronic circuit fundamentals
  • Familiarity with common networking protocols (UDP, TCP, IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with basic wireless communications and standards.
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) theory.
  • Familiarity with FPGAs and Verilog.
  • Experience with embedded development, ARM microprocessors, and cross-compiler tools would be preferred.
  • Prior experience using USRP devices would be strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience using GNU Radio would be strongly preferred.
