SOKNA is dedicated to transforming all aspects of the funeral service process in Egypt. Our company’s objective is to assist families when they experience a loss by providing a seamless and curated service that relieves them of the stress and fear of navigating funeral logistics. SOKNA is looking for a Director of Operations. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with an outgoing personality and a proven track record in motivating, managing, and growing a team. If you have that entrepreneurial spirit, and an energetic and ambitious personality, we want to meet you!
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate SOKNA’s service and operation teams’ day-to-day activities, with a focus on efficiency, communication, and quality
- Identify talent and promote career building and progression within SOKNA, with a strong emphasis on team member retention, coaching, and teamwork
- Develop and implement a strategic framework to track and measure operational performance, and identify areas for improvement and scale
- Develop, monitor, and enforce quality standards
- Maintain and grow SOKNA’s partnerships with third-party vendors and other stakeholders
- Identify business opportunities and produce data-driven business plans and convert strategies into action
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is a must. An MBA or equivalent experience is highly preferred
- 5+ years of relevant manager and/or director-level experience
- Proven ability to develop and execute operational solutions to optimize complex workflows
- Proficiency in project management and execution in new, ambiguous, or time-constrained environments
- Experience with dynamic ‘supply and demand’ business models
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders, influence without authority, and drive alignment
- Past experience in a start-up environment, with a proven track record in building teams and driving growth is a big plus
- Track record of using analytical thinking to pose data-driven questions and produce insightful analyses from them
- Highly organized, impact-driven, and process oriented
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Arabic
- Demonstrable experience in managing on-call operations teams is a plus
