Role Overview

We are looking for an Analytic leader with the experience and capabilities to position insights and data driven decision-making at the heart of our “way of working”. This applicant will have two direct reports in Dubai, and indirect reports across the AMET geography. They will identify value adding business insights using the full suite of quantitative analytics tools and partner with the business and cross functional teams in each location to drive them to action.

  • Operating Budget ($): $500Mn Net trade sales
  • Total No of staff in Department: 3
  • People Reporting to the position: 2 (one contractor, one J&J FTE)
  • In-Direct reports (Key contacts in local markets): Distributor analysts and individuals in Cape Town Istanbul and Cairo with partial responsibility for BCI activity
  • Operating Companies: J&J Consumer Middle East FZ-LLC
  • Geographical coverage: Africa, Middle East & Turkey (AMET)

Duties and Responsibilities

Account abilities

  • Responsible for driving the EMEA Analytics agenda into the AMET hub, and driving the transformation of how we place analytics at the heart of the organisation to drive improved decision-making and evaluation of our strategy to achieve greater results
  • Delivers pro-actively high-quality insights to key business partners; marketing, commercial and shopper teams
  • Partners with business partners to drive insights to action positively impacting key company metrics (Market Share, Sales & Profitability), especially ensures that the business planning process is rooted in analytic insights
  • Drives organisational capability of business analytics upskilling the organization x-functions and establishes a culture of insights-based decision-making
  • Partners with senior leadership to drive a ‘one truth’ mentality in the organization by owning regular reporting capabilities and processes
  • Owns and defines external supplier partnerships striving for agile, high value, innovative solutions

Review of KPA’s

  • Market Share increases in measured markets of KSA, UAE, KUW, SA & Turkey
  • EPOS share increases in other markets
  • Achievement of AMET NTS & IBT target
  • Management of AMET BCI budget of $3.6M to achieve business objectives
  • Integration of insights tools and activating of insights across the business

Communications and Working Relationships

The individual will be a critical partner to the Board, delivering data and insights to facilitate better decision-making with a high responsibility to be understood and make it happen throughout the organization. The individual will need to have experience of working with and influencing board level partners, prior experience in a commercial (sales or marketing) function is a plus. They will need to partner with the global and regional BCI teams to deploy best practices from other markets, and to share best practice within AMET to the benefit of J&J Globally.

This person will be personally leading the priority strategic projects, ensuring they are delivering the business benefit. They will also need to manage a team based in Dubai to ensure day to day deliverables are met, and to develop those team members to be potential future successors. In addition, the individual requires excellent collaboration skills to also build trusted relations with key partners in the other AMET geographies.

Job Requirements

Education: Degree qualification required
Years of experience: 7+ years
Languages: Fluent English (spoken & written), Arabic or Turkish speaking is an advantage.

  • Proven track record of driving insights to action in a commercial organization
  • Excels in commercial and econometrics analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead through influence and with experience of influencing at a senior level.
  • Must be able to work well in cross functional teams, both as a teammate and a team leader also in remote settings
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex topics in simple ways
