Job Description
Work with the MakerSpace Program Manager(MSP) to design a localized program that fits with the city in compliance with Maker Space program and GSEF vision while ensuring reporting all activities to MSP-GSEF, Setting a plan for implementation and facilitating, and coordinating the activities included in the program.
Responsibilities:
- Develop programs and plans and budgets for lab with the MS program manager.
- Work with community engagement specialist (CES) of the lab to build connections with technical partners, third-party organizations and experts to support the continuous development of the FabLab services.
- Set action plans with the lab team to manage, control and achieve the goals of the MS and foundation.
Implementation Of Training Tracks /Curriculum:
- Implement training tracks and curriculum developed by the education team by delivery, assigning, and selecting instructors.
- Coordinate the logistics of the training programs with CES of the lab including registration, payments, supplies, components & kits.
- Monitor the implementation of each course, curriculum and track according to Education program plan to fulfill the target set for each lab.
- Analyze feedback from training's and development programs and report recommendations to Maker space program manager and education sector
- Analyze educational programs outputs and suggest improvement plans to the education manager and the MS PM to ensure the desired impact is reached.
- Build training and course delivery schedule for workshops of “education program” and others as per need.
Technical Research and Development support
- Facilitate, advise and support hands-on projects with users.
- Set corrective and preventive maintenance plans, functioning spare parts and frequent maintenance system to ensure the efficiency of the machines.
- Set maintenance plans and schedule, and make sure operation and function of machines are efficient.
- Suggest renovation plans for equipment with technical specifications as per the capacity and scope of lab activity.
Reporting and daily operation of MS:
- Work with the local team to create a quarterly plan for the lab activities and outreach
- Ensure lab safety, lab regulations, and tidiness are complied with in the lab.
- Ensure that the PR and Admin Specialist provides the monthly report of lab activities, progress, budget, and requirements to the MS PM and the M&E Specialist.
- Ensure requirements of M&Es are monthly fulfilled and comments are considered and implemented.
- Ensure inventory system is applied, and budget is properly allocated and controlled, consumables are wisely consumed.
- Provide materials and information to CES for marketing and outreach
- Set processes and lab work to ensure safe and productive quality of work.
- Issue purchase and financial requests for fablab and follow until delivery with GSEF Admin assistant.
- Attract different segments of the community with the intention of building alumni networks.
- Ensure availability and attraction of pool of volunteers and experienced instructors when needed to support FabLab in workshops when required.
- Assign team and volunteers to clear and defined activities; supervise their work throughout the different projects, workshops.
- Prepare backup plans for continuous efficient operation in the lab.
- Nominate and select capable members who are able to deliver courses content and utilize equipment in the lab.
- Set performance objectives, measure and evaluate the performance of volunteers and specialist.
- Spread a learning environment in the lab.
- Ensure that all knowledge acquired and lessons learnt and documented properly.
- Look and investigate for new technological advancement and share with team members.
- Share and improve product design development knowledge in the team.
Job Requirements
- Experience in CAD program,
- Experience in programming language and Arduino
- Experience in laser cutting, 3D printer and CNC machines.
- Experience with use and management of hand tools and test
- equipment
- Minimum 4 years experience in equipment use and group leading

Education
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics, electronics, architecture) or Applied Arts.
