Job Description

  • Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Contributes to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on maintenance activities general and task management.
  • Develops a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Develops clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
  • Plans and coordinates all maintenance activities in the facilities including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and ensures implementation.
  • Monitors expenses and controls the budget for maintenance.
  • Manages relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Carries out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Effectively delegates any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works.
  • Ensures routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
  • Optimizes equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators.
  • Coaches, mentor, train and develop maintenance employees to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Develops maintenance schedules and enforces them among maintenance staff.
  • Monitors equipment inventory and places orders when necessary.
  • Keeps maintenance logs and reports on daily activities.
  • Audits and ensures compliance of the engineering data systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering preferred mechanical engineering specialization.
  • Previous working knowledge as a maintenance manager for 10 to 12 years in FMCG.
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Working knowledge of facilities' machines and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
