Job Description
- Installation, Configuration, Administration and Performance tuning of Oracle WebLogic Application Servers
- Must be able to stop/start/reload/configure/troubleshoot all aspects of WebLogic Application Servers
- Must thoroughly understand how WebLogic Servers are administered in a Production Environment using the WebLogic Admin
- Must be able to configure Authentication/Authorization schemes for the WebLogic Applications.
- This might involve a combination of Database and application security
- Must be comfortable working in Virtualized environment like IBM Virtualization, VMWare etc.
- Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
- Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
- Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
- Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
- Responsible for establishing and implementation of database backup and recovery strategy
- Responsible for implementation and release of database changes
- Install Application modules (web applications, web services)
- Application configuring
- Monitoring and management of Application processes
- Input/output files management
- Application tables cleanup
- Application users and roles management
- Application users’ actions audit
- Supports users, developing documentation and assistance tools
- Operating system maintenance, security maintenance, install patches and updates
- Application logs archiving
- Providing Application logs in case of necessity
Job Requirements
- Administration & deployment experience with WebLogic Application Server preferably with an Oracle Database Server backend (patch/updates)
- Proven Database Administration experience.
- Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems
- Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
- DBA Certification
- Production administration experience
- Unix (System Admin level experience not required), Linux experience preferred
- Knowledge of network concepts: dynamic IP configuring, DNS, Firewalls
- Good knowledge of Oracle WebLogic security concept, managing site security, create new users / roles, create application pools / adjust properties of existing apps, register new applications / adjust parameters of existing applications
- Experience in Oracle WebLogic 11G site performance monitoring: track resource usage, adjust memory pools, identify bottlenecks between CPU/RAM/HDD
