Job Description

The QS Engineer is a member of the supervision team. Assist Senior QS in preparing the bill of quantity i.e. the quantity of materials required by the Estimation department to prepare estimates for the submission of tender monitor all projects works for variations and enable the project team / SQS to maintain profitability through accurate costing.

Responsibilities:

Assist SQS in the preparation of Independent estimates, evaluation of payments, Variation orders and claims.

    Quantity surveying experience in infrastructure industries.

    Work experience shall include but not limited to performance of feasibility studies, preparation of plans, bills of quantities and other relevant documents, and preparation of risk analysis.

    Duties:

    • Review and check tender documents for completeness.
    • Evaluate and process the A/E and contractor progress payments and their close out payments.
    • Estimation and verification of materials on site. Verity non-conformance items which are not to be included in payments
    • Estimation of variation orders and financial appraisal of contractor claims.
    • Review contractors’ program in close coordination with respective superintendents and ensure proper cost loading in order to exercise acceptable cash flow.
    • Maintain all records with respect to the cost administration of the contract i.e. payment applications, variations, etc.
    • Monitor and control contractor’s material inventory system to ensure proper accounting of consumption of materials consistent with actual performance.
    • Review and analyze financial aspects of contractor’s proposals for better performance and results.
    • Provide assistance with administration of contracts, oversee contract correspondence and protect the Client from contractor claims.
    • Provide advice to other project management team members on the interpretation of contract documents and recommend solutions to contractual issues.
    • Assist in preparation of necessary documents for contracts close-outs.
    • Ensure responsibilities are fulfilled with a high quality and in a cost effective manner .
    • Support Project Senior Managers with the management of client relations and expectations, as needed
    • Support Project Senior Managers in client presentations and workshops, as needed
    • Support Project Senior Managers with responding to client clarifications and technical issues, as needed.
    • Ensure client satisfaction with transport planning and traffic engineering deliverables
    • Upload relevant sanitized Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering deliverables in the knowledge management repository as per corporate policies and procedures
    • Attend periodic training to further develop relevant skills

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
    • Chartered or Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
    • Saudi council of engineers

    Requirements

    • In depth knowledge in QS
    • Knowledge non-conformance items which are not to be included in payments.
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
    • Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic & English
    • 10 Years of experience
