Job Description

Credit Control Officer is responsible for inspecting business cases, disbursed under the scope of the microfinance program, verification of financial analysis data, as well as the quality of decisions made.

  • Credit Control Officers contribute to the mitigation of risk of non-compliance with policies and procedures in lending operations
  • Analyze the quality of risk assessments for loans carried out by staff involved in credit operations
  • Through direct visits to clients, check the accuracy of credit assessment, carried out by loan officers/sales representatives
  • Ensure if credit exposures have been issued in accordance with existing internal rules and regulations
  • Monitor compliance with action plans agreed with responsible managers
  • Prepares reports on monitoring actions, conducted by loan officers/sales representatives/supervisors
  • Identify, analyze and report to the management on the cases of non-compliance with internal regulations
  • Notify management immediately, when fraud or other significant material risks have been identified
  • Analyze, evaluate and discuss with the direct manager the strengths and weaknesses of social and financial analysis skills of loan officers/sales representatives/underwriters
  • Suggest improvements and recommend actions in accordance with observations made during supervision
  • Propose changes that improve microfinance processes
  • Guarantee confidentiality of information handled

Job Requirements

  • University degree of economics; accounting; banking; finance
  • Experience in financing/credit controlling (1 year +)
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentations skills
  • Knowledge of local market regulations and laws; existing internal policies, standards and procedures
  • Attentiveness to details
  • Flexibility to travel on short assignments
  • A good level of English is not mandatory but is an advantage
  • Proficiency in using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
