Job Description
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:
- Analyze laboratory results for genetic research with emphasis on Next Generation Sequencing Data.
- Write and sign off medical reports of patients’ data analyses
- Communicate with both physicians and patients to provide the appropriate genetic counseling based on data analyses.
- Work with other physicians to determine further genetic tests required for the patient.
- Record and archive patients’ records and test results.
- Assist with implementation of quality control and assurance measures, and lab certification and accreditation activities.
- Work closely with sequencing laboratory team to analyze the data promptly.
Job Requirements
- A medical degree in life sciences (genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, etc.) with strong background of genetics and bioinformatic analyses of next generation sequencing data.
- Prior experience in analyzing next generation sequencing data and signing off medical reports.
- Prior exposure to analyzing genetic/hereditary conditions such as cancer predisposition, metabolism-related diseases, connective tissue, neurogenic, etc.
- Proven ability to determine medical implication of genomic variants and ability to generate profile for genomic mutations.
- We are particularly looking at Internal or external board certified or board eligible geneticist
- Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and/or a Ph.D degree in a relevant field.
- Clinical Geneticist Board Certification is preferable but eligibility to apply for the certification can also be considered.
- Biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or related fields
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse team and strong documentation skills.
