Job Description

  • The HEI Public University Scholarship Program will provide underserved students from across Egypt with high quality undergraduate education in Egypt, and the skills and knowledge to participate actively and responsibly in their communities and contribute to the economic development of the country. Sponsored by the U.S. Government, in partnership with the Government of Egypt, the Local Scholarship Program is part of the U.S. –Egypt Higher Education Initiative.
  • The U.S. –Egypt Higher Education Initiative (HEI) is an investment in Egypt’s future that provides educational opportunities for high-achieving Egyptians to learn skills that will better meet the needs of the 21st century economy. This U.S. Government Initiative encourages partnerships between Egyptian and American universities for knowledge transfer, research, and joint degree programs that reflect the needs of the modern economy in critical disciplines such as agribusiness, engineering, and entrepreneurship. It provides scholarships for talented young Egyptians—women and men from underserved communities in rural and urban areas—to Egyptian and American universities in fields that will help them reach their aspirations and contribute to Egypt’s economic prosperity.

Responsibilities:

  • Track student completion of activities and requirements and ensure that the student monitoring database is up to date.
  • Communicate with students, as needed
  • Draft program documents including announcements, advertisements, success stories, and report components;
  • Participate in review and screening of student scholarship applications
  • Organize and follow up on training logistics and procurement of books and program materials;
  • Maintain attendance records for trainers, and use to compile trainer payment requests on a monthly basis;
  • Collect student attendance from trainers to track attendance and participation;
  • Prepare end of semester participant attendance and performance data and evaluation statistics and submit to manager for quarterly reporting;
  • Prepare fliers, graduation reports and certificates and other documents for special events;
  • Maintain program files and documentation in an organized manner
  • Coordinate logistics with universities as needed
  • Keep a record of and follow up on cost share documentation requests
  • Arrange for meetings
  • Perform other tasks as requested.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline such as education or business.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent English and Arabic proficiency
  • Minimum TOEIC Score of 600 or B2 equivalent
  • Organization and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Passion for youth development
  • Egyptian citizenship

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Demonstrated experience with program administration or project management
  • Time management skills
  • Team Player
  • Interpersonal Skills
