Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Revamping the structure of the company`s Operations sector through evaluating the current capabilities, determining the roles and responsibilities of the sector`s jobs, and outlining the authorities` matrix.
  • Streamlining the operations ‘processes of the company, and standardizing all related policies, procedures, and way of working.
  • Managing a winning business relationship with all shareholders, stakeholder, vendors, external and governmental authorities.
  • As a business partner, the role holder will strongly participate in leading a smooth business transitional phase in order to achieve the company`s short and long terms objectives.

Functional Responsibilities:

Strategy, and overall Management:

  • Assess and evaluate operational performance of the operations BU, with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of Operations BU.
  • Create and implement yearly operational objectives that align with the group’s plan for growth and expansion.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend the required operations capabilities [machinery, technology and human capital] for achieving the short and long terms organizational objectives.
  • Evaluate the operations BU way of working and provide suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.

Operations Management:

  1. Production, Quality Assurance & HSE:
  • Supervise the process of production across the different sites, and assuring its compliance to agreed upon standardization, timelines, volumes and values.
  • Assure the compliance of the production process to the standardized quality measures.
  • Generate all required operations reports related to productions efficiencies, process excellence, utilities management, operational cost and human capital optimization.
  • Set all required plans to control the operational cost and increase the operational efficiencies.
  • Assure strict compliance to all local measures, conditions and controls of Health, Safety and Environment [HSE], and lead the process of getting the required HSE accreditation such as ISO & BRC.
  • Supervising the implementation of the ERP process of the operations` sector across all sites.
  • Mentor, evaluate and coach the key personnel of operations` sector across all sites.
  • Identifying the required development of operational capabilities [machinery, Technology and human capital] on consistent basis.
  1. Supply Chain [Planning, Procurement & Warehousing]:
  • Setting the annual operations plans according to the business insights shared by the commercial division and board of management, and assure its proper cascading to the key personnel of operations sector across all the sites.
  • Standardizing the procurement process and its policies and procedures across all sites, and in coordination with the Finance sector.
  • Assure the availability of all raw material and spare parts required for both production & engineering processes.
  • Assure the highest utilization of storage spaces of all warehouses [Raw material, spare parts and finished products] and consistently evaluate the storage bottlenecks and provide the proper solutions of overcoming them.
  • Assuring the tidiness of the warehouses documentation cycle on both ERP and manual basis, and assure the discipline of monthly, quarterly and annual closures and stocktaking process in coordination with the Finance sector.
  • Mentor, evaluate and coach the key personnel of Supply Chain division across all sites.
  • Identifying the required development of Supply Chain capabilities [Equipment, Technology and human capital] on consistent basis.
  1. Engineering & Maintenance:
  • Liaison with the maintenance TPA [Third]

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering [Mechanical, Electrical, or any equivalent specialization], MBA or equivalent post graduate degrees are strong plus.
  • 15-20 years relevant experience in operations management in industrial companies, preferably if in printing and publishing field.
  • Previous experience in managing supply chain functions.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels.
  • Previous experience in Operations/ERP work is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of Egyptian HSE requirements, conditions and controls.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
