The Upstream Regions Tax Team is part of the UK Hub and comprises a diverse team of tax professionals located in a number of geographies whose primary purpose is delivery of the key accountabilities of Tax Compliance, Tax Audit, Tax Reporting and Local Tax Advocacy for the relevant Upstream Regions.

In this role you will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager, North Africa to help deliver these accountabilities for all the countries under scope.

You will be responsible for a wide range of internal and external tax reporting requirements and tax compliance matters for Egypt upstream Production Sharing Agreements, tax advisory work and joint venture management.

The compliance aspects of the role cover the preparation and submission of Egypt corporate tax returns for 33 concessions, transfer pricing, payroll tax compliance, VAT exemption certificate renewal, withholding tax and downstream direct and indirect tax compliance. The role also involves handling of external audits by the Fiscal Authorities in Egypt and Joint Venture matters.
Resources across our team are agile, flexible and deployed where there is the biggest tax risk or opportunity. The successful candidate may also be required to provide support to countries outside of North Africa through the flexible use of resources between the North Africa and Middle East Tax teams.
The implementation of Function priorities will be a continuing journey with an extended period of change. In particular, the proposed move of Tax Reporting to a centralised model may impact the tax reporting aspects of this role.
BP is a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are proud of our fairness, equal opportunity and meritocracy which allow our employees to reach their full potential.
