Vacancy title: NMS NPI Engineering ProfessionalDescription:
Responsible for definition and execution (Installation, configuration, operation, administration and
maintenance) of NMS in new project, demos, proof of concept, type approvals tests, field trials, and in general any New Product Introduction (NPI) activity with our customer for any new product or solution.
Accountable from definition to validation / acceptance by the customer.
Support systems managing optical networks all over the MEA “Middle East Africa” (Product Line: 1353NM, 1354RM, 1354BMETH, 1359HA, 1359IOO, 1359ISN, EML, SDH, OTN, WDM, PKT, OIS & REST)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform the Installation and commissioning of 1350OMS servers on HP-UX and LX platforms (KVM & VMware) for new/existing networks.
- Provide end to end NMS NPI solutions for MEA optics projects.
- Prepare & Perform Demo with the customer and assure customer satisfaction
- Review and prepare Method Of Procedure(MOP) for any planned activity
- Validates the solution within customer´s environment to ensure all the customer requirements are covered, establishing the basis to get the final acceptance from the customer
- Technical Support for NOKIA customers responsible for Upgrade, Migration, Split Dismantle, Swap, Insertion of new NEs and all the advanced operational and administrative tasks related to management systems managing NOKIA Optical transmission networks
- Provides all the inputs required for project documentation: Test Objective, Tests plan and tests results, including environment specifications
- Working closely with the project teams TPM, ROM, Solutions Architect to insure delivery of the solution
- Provide flawless execution to fulfill scope statement considering project objectives & constraints of cost, time & quality Support activities and development of teams and mentor junior resources of MEA
- Work on functional, communication and reporting tools (Cares)
- The position requires strong technical skills in the following areas
- Excellent knowledge on DWDM, SDH, OTN, GMPLS
- HP-Unix Administration
- RHEL Administration
- ORACLE Administration
- Shell scripting
- Virtualization “VMware &KVM”
- DCN design and troubleshooting
Job Requirements
- B. Sc. Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer or equivalent disciplines
- Preferred Certifications include: HP-Unix Admin, LINUX, Oracle, Programming language, CCNA/CCNP, Java, and Perl is advantage.
- Excellent communication skills verbal & written and documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem solving skills and working experiences on DWDM, SDH, OTN, GMPLS, HP-Unix Administration, RHEL Administration, Oracle Administration, Shell scripting, Virtualization “VMware & KVM”.
- Ability to learn effectively and quickly,
- Team player, and able to work on own initiative.
- Ability to travel (both domestic and abroad).
- Languages: Fluent English, French is a plus.
