Job Description
- Performs visual inspection / diagnosis of vehicle, using various checklists, diagnosis tools and aids during service reception, dynamic testing, including test-drives.
- Identifies cause of malfunction.
- Documents, on data base, diagnosis methods utilized, as well as proper work steps to resolve issues after thoroughly understanding vehicle history and/or contacting the customer for additional comments on malfunction.
- Transfers and explains workshop a to the concerned technicians, including generating the required parts list for repair work.
- Advises and supports workshop personnel in difficult diagnosis cases; may even perform the work himself in critical cases.
- Conducts function / quality checks to ensure sustainability of repair work conducted, using the support of retrofit or complex special equipment.
- Performs final inspection to ensure degree of repairs, roadworthiness, functional reliability and safety using various measuring instruments; may also conduct final test drive.
- Completes the vehicle repair report outlining faults, description of cause and repair work conducted.
- Upon completion of job, moves vehicle to parking lot, documenting its location.
- Ensures that technicians safeguard tools and equipment utilized during repair work, as well as ensures that work space is cleaned upon completion of the job.
- Organizes the sequence of job cards, informs technician of time limitations for job completion and monitors their performance time.
- Generates a daily report for workshop productivity and efficiency
- Records all information on data base and prepares the relevant paperwork for payment purposes.
- Handles the special tools store and issues the special tools used by the technicians and ensure safe storage.
- Ordering any needed special tools from suppliers.
Job Requirements
- B.Sc. Engineering,
- Minimum of 2 years experience as Systems Technician in more than one field of expertise;
- At least 3 years automotive experience in diagnosis field; training courses for Certified Diagnostic Technician;
- Ability to draw up and understand complex diagnosis documents; troubleshooter; good computer skills; able to professionally manage a large team of technicians; fluency in English a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
