Job Description
- The main responsibilities of this position include, not limited to :
- Manage and maintain the company's storage-based systems and the deployment of these storage technologies
- Work with existing programmers, System Administrators and DBAs to optimize storage, Backup, Restore and Replication.
- Ensure backup methods are in place and testing of FC LUNs.
- Develop and maintain records for entire storage systems
- Review system performance and efficiency.
- Provide architecture and performance recommendations to DBAs and Ops.
- Conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues.
- Assisting in development and product engineering as it relates to these technologies
- Managing and maintaining the company’s storage-based systems and the deployment of these storage technologies
- Understanding business objectives and seeking ways to help the company meet these goals with storage technology
- Perform activities related to install, configure and managing SAN devices and fiber switches.
Job Requirements
- EducationUniversity degree or equivalent experience in computer systems, computer science or other relevant fields.
Relevant experience: - 3 to 5 years in administration of storage systems in a large company.
- Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- Experience in managing storage systems from vendors such as EMC, NetApp, HP, and IBM.
- Experience in troubleshooting Windows Server, complex computing platforms, storage systems including SAN and NAS arrays, and cutting-edge technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability
- Experience of storage protocols such as NFDS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC, FCoE, etc, back and recovery.
- Experience with EMC, Fujitsu, IBM, HP storage arrays and Cisco Fabric Manager.
Skills: - Knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms
- Experience with virtualization and Microsoft technologies
- Background in Linux, Cisco and VoIP is a plus
- Basic understanding of storage protocols such as NFDS, CIFS, iSCSI, FC, FCoE, etc, back and recovery
- Experience in Server Operating system administration
