Chemistry & Biology Technician

Reports to: Head of Science, Lab manager.
Working hours: 7:45am - 3:45pm
 

Duties
● Monitoring and preparation and delivery of requisition lists from teachers in
a timely manner based on orders by teachers.
● Be up to date on relevant safety training and information.
● Manage and support the cleanliness of the labs, preparation rooms and
equipment.
● Safely and carefully deal with and store all chemicals as per guidance from
CLEAPSS.
● Follow up on safety issues reported, taking action and passing on concerns
where necessary.
● Report issues in the labs to relevant departments such as engineering.
● Periodical maintenance of equipment.
● Inventory of equipment, chemicals and resources.
● Support Head of Science by providing lists of chemicals and equipment to
be ordered.
● Facilitate ordering of materials for the department.
● Support in classrooms as required with practical work.
● Carry out technical administrative tasks as required by the Head of Science.
● Manage other members of the Science technician team.
● Supporting teachers with organising photocopying.
● Maintain suitable hygiene and appearance.
● Other reasonable requests of teachers and the Head of Science.
