About the Job

A multinational company, based in the company office in Cairo Egypt is looking for a talented scrum master.

Leading the planning and execution of development and delivery of each release of one or more products to a high standard. Scrum Master will act as the guardian for the scrum team, responsible for the release/sprint planning of product and execution throughout the Product Life Cycle, defining the release process and coordinating all the activities required to bring the product to market. Activities include but not limited to:

  • Develops and maintains a skill profile of the team, ensuring that the team is at all times capable of executing all relevant tasks to deliver the agreed client solutions.
  • Actively manages their team member and fosters personal and professional growth.
  • Collaborating with other Team Leads in the organization in delivering products and improving the way we work.
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most of out self-organization.
  • Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Implementing change efforts to improve process and practice.
  • Promoting and assuring use of the agreed agile methodologies and tools.
  • Developing a deep understanding of domains, customers, products and technologies.
  • Helping software development teams apply the Scrum framework
  • Planning deliverables and helping teams monitor performance
  • Resolving issues that hinder the teams’ work
  • Managing timelines & coaching team members
  • Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups
  • Maintaining an awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges and enable new ways of working.
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Sc. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • At least 5-8 years’ experience (3 years plus experience as scrum master)
  • PMP/ Agile scrum master certified is preferred
  • Technical Background is a must
  • Computer vision/ image processing Background is a plus
  • English fluency (written, speaking) is most.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Agile project management & Project Portfolio Management concepts.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban.
  • Good skills to coach team how to follow agile scrum, which really works.
  • Knowledge about other methodologies other than Agile-Scrum, so that he can explain other methodologies to motivate his team.
  • Should know Agile techniques like User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Ability to take and understand his commitment to deliver the product on time.
  • Familiar with programming languages, Database
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burn-down metrics, velocity, user stories, etc.
  • Familiar with common development practices, Service-oriented environments, and Agile practices.
  • Basic Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply the principles, tools, and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects or work plans to ensure successful completion is huge plus
