Job Description

Major Functions

  • The Logistics Manager should manage the movement of products and material from Supplier's warehouses to GB Auto warehouses. Negotiate the best payment terms and delivery terms with nominated suppliers
  • Plan and implement import/export strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organisation.
  • Investigate, plan and implement strategically effective and relevant transport methods, which meet optimally the needs of the organisation and its suppliers and customers.
  • Study alternatives, report of future changes in import/export laws and in relevant local territory practices, and ensure such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's own strategy, resources and procedures.
  • Manage all staff reporting to the position so as to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities.
  • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
  • Communicate with export and import and related authorities, customers and suppliers, as necessary to ensure smooth & efficient business activity.
  • Liaise with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant export/import activities and support in relation to the organisation's sales, purchasing, materials management, production and overall operating functions.
  • Manage language and communications translation issues and activities as necessary to enable effective relations, and integration of imported/exported material, product, equipment within the supply chain of importer and exporter.
  • Negotiate contracts for sales/purchases and manage renew, review contracts as required to enable effective trading, operations and customer/supplier relations.
  • Manage the movement of products/equipment/material to our company in accordance with organisational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process.
  • the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
  • Monitor record, analyses and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to import/export activities.
  • Maintain personal ability, and appropriate use of, all relevant ICT (Information & Communications Technology) and other systems within the import/export function.
  • Prepare and submit relevant administration in a timely and accurate manner, for example: shipping schedules; letters of credit; licenses; declarations; packing, routing, transport and safety documentation.
  • Measure the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in  Accounting , Logistics or relevant degree.
  • Experience from 5-7 years preferred in automotive .

Technological Requirements: 

  • Full Knowledge of International Agreements
  • Good Communication Skills with CBU suppliers
  • Full Knowledge for Inco Terms & Payment Terms, inventory status at different ports
  • Knowledge of importation of CBU and its updates
  • Spare Parts Regulation
  • Tires Regulations
  • Regular updates of international and domestic import regulations"
