Job Description
- Negotiate rates, transportation and handling costs with shipping lines & overseas company agents
- Obtain rates & quote offers for shipping services required by customers
- Obtain, check and prepare documentation to meet customers requirements
- Co-ordinate the shipments with overseas agents
- Track & trace shipments & update customers on regular basis
- Complete invoicing and billing processes; assist in the investigation of billing issues and develops solutions for problems to ensure accurate invoices are provided to the customer in a timely manner
- Consistently meets the customer’s needs around shipment bookings, collections, delivery, documentation and shipment updates
Job Requirements
- Fluent in the English language
- Previous experience in a freight forwarding company
- Demonstrated outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to quickly develop rapport with customers
- Ability to handle a shipment from booking to delivery
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills and a high level of professionalism
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a high-volume, fast paced environment
- International freight forwarding experience with current networks
