Job Description
Main Job Duties:
- Research potential suppliers
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Negotiate contract terms, conditions and pricing
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Review quality of purchased products
- Enter order details into database
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisor to ensure proper storage
Job Requirements
- Work experience as a buyer is a must
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a must
- Experience in manufacturing medical devices/supplies or pharmaceuticals is preferable
- Very good knowledge of supplier sourcing practices (researching and evaluating)
- Very good negotiation and communication skills
- Owning a car is preferable and ability to visit suppliers at their sites if and when required
