Job Description
- A Solution Architect works with a customer (internal or external) to design, configure and deploy a system that satisfies the customer’s data management, processing/transformation and storage needs. The Solution Architect assesses the customer requirements and proposes a solution architecture to satisfy these requirements. This involves the selection of an appropriate software stack comprising of internal and external (paid-for or free/open-source) tools to meet the project needs.
- Once the software stack is deployed according to the customer requirements, the Solution Architect configures the software (or advises the customer on how to configure the software themselves). This is involved, but is not limited to.
- Analysis of customer data to identify structures, hierarchies and common attributes
- Establishing data mappings for storage in a system-of-records
- Assessment of approaches to parsing/processing/transformation of data
- Create rules to determine data quality
- Augmentation of data (for example by cross-checking with approved list of reference data)
- The Solution Architect feeds back feature requests, customized software development requirements and defect reports to the development team and facilitates the delivery of updates and fixes to the customer.
