Scrum Master

Facilitate and administer daily standups, sprint planning meetings, review meetings, and retrospectives.

• Facilitate Sprint review meeting and capture feedback.
• Coach and guide the scrum team to perform at its best and how to get the most of out self-organization.
• Encourage team participation in meetings. Note areas for improvement and action items for future sprints.
• Work as the administrator of the scrum board. Ensure that cards are up to date.
• Meet individually with team members and stakeholders capturing feedback and advising team members to ensure the process is understood and working well. Iron out team disagreements about the process and work styles.
• Manage communication between team members and between the development team and different stakeholders.
• Protect the team from external changes, interruptions, and over-committing scope.
• Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments.
• Regular analysis of burn-down charts and other portfolio planning tools to track the performance of the team and share with management and team members.
• If the scrum team isn’t humming, that’s the scrum master’s responsibility. Scrum masters should be comfortable doing just about anything to help their team and should not slink away from doing the extra mile to help the team out with anything they need.
