Job Description
- Art gallery manager oversee the planning, preparation and maintenance of exhibits in their gallery.
- They schedule programs and staff for their gallery needs, and may also arrange for art work to be transported.
- They also manage operations and day to day financial logistics.
- Manage the gallery from A-Z, including coordinating with buyers and sellers, managing events, and insuring that all operations are executed efficiently with the brand in mind.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a carefully selected catalogue of art, crafts and design themes, then build it into a quarterly and yearly schedule of exhibitions and curated events.
- Build a network of 50 marketable artists and artisans
- Complement The Nook's art events with other forms of social interaction that build interest in the space, create traffic and generate additional cash for the business. Other than the space itself, The Nook should carefully select and train its staff to build their own knowledge and curiosity and refine their ability to provide friendly customer service
- Ensure day to day operations are in line with buisness plan.
Job Requirements
Required Skills:
- They need a degree in art management or a related field.
- A manager with an eye and appreciation for Art and all things creative.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage the operations of an entire art gallery from A-Z, including managing a team, coordinating with buyers and sellers and ensuring that the brand's reputation and quality is maintained.
Ideal Candidates:
- Have experience working with Art Galleries, Artists, Craftsmen, and creatives of all sorts.
- Have experience managing dynamic and diverse teams.
- Have previous event management experience.
- Have an obsession with fostering creativity.
- Art Degree is a plus.
