About our client:
- It was established in 1979 to educate and train shipboard officers, ratings and shore-based management personnel. The first batch of cadets graduated in 1983. In 1988 the college's mandate was expanded to training all levels and categories of personnel for all facets of the Nigerian maritime industry. By the end of 2008, they had trained about 4,300 Nigerian Merchant Navy officers and more than 65,000 other workers in marine operations. They have an active alumni association, helping members to keep in touch and assist each other, as well as promoting improvements to standards for cadet training.
Job Summary:
Will focus on the areas of seafarer education and training, education for a sustainable maritime future, technology and the human element, The position requires in-depth knowledge of the International Maritime Organization, its conventions and their aims as well as an understanding of the technical operation of ships within the legal framework of these conventions. The faculty member must be knowledgeable
Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in their subject area
- Work with students who are studying for a degree or a certificate or certification or are taking classes to improve their knowledge or career skills
- Develop an instructional plan (known as a course outline or syllabus) for the course(s) they teach and ensure that it meets college and department standards
- Plan lessons and assignments
- Work with colleagues to develop or modify the curriculum for a degree or certificate program involving a series of courses
- Supervise graduate students who are working toward doctoral degrees
Job Requirements

- 4+ years proven experience as Master Mariner (Captain)
- Previous experience in tutoring crews
- Master or PhD
- Age: 50 - 60
- Ability to Move to Nigeria
