Job Description
- This position will report directly to the Digital Manager and will be responsible for the front and back-end development of our website.
- The website has been developed externally and the development agency will provide ongoing support and maintenance so the in-house developer will focus on testing, recommending changes, optimizing for speed, uploading content, developing customized modules as needed.
Main duties:
- Spearhead website changes to increase our market reach and improve our USP
- Continuously optimize site for speed and other aspects.
- Recommend and execute changes to front-end layout.
- Collaborate with teams to define, design and ship new features.
- Unit-test code for robustness, usability and reliability.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven track record in Magento development roles.
- Certified Magento Developer
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- BSc in Computer Science, engineering or related field; Masters level relevant degree is a plus.
- At least 4 years experience in Magento development.
- Excellent knowledge in object oriented PHP
- Strong knowledge of javascript, HTML, CSS and related tools
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, i.e. MySQL
- Able to write clean and readable code and test.
Preferable but not requirement:
- Prior experience with a tech start up
