About the Role
We are looking for an Operations Manager focused on launching and scaling UberBus across Middle East & Africa. This is a particularly challenging and rewarding role with huge opportunities but also lots of challenges in light of intense competition and complex market dynamics.
The Rider Ops role is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on your city through the growth and optimization of the rider population on Uber’s platform. This is a critical role within the org as you would play a key role in defining the overall demand strategy and acquisition framework for UberBus across MEA. You will be responsible for the development and execution of the demand strategy to drive rider awareness, education, stickiness, adoption and growth. You will be leading Rider Ops for Uber’s top priority product and biggest Bold Bets for 2019, primarily focusing on HCV.
What You'll Do:
- Demand Strategy. You will work with various Marketing counterparts to create, execute and measure marketing tactics, effectively communicate our brand, and grow our business. You will be responsible for all rider marketing initiatives, recommend, plan and implement together with a multidisciplinary team
- Product Positioning. Shape the overall Shared Rides product narrative and customer strategy, including audience definition, naming and end-to-end product positioning
- Stakeholder Management. Work and communicate effectively with Performance Marketing, CRM, Brand & Campaigns, Research & Insights and On-ground teams to execute on key strategic projects
- Market Research. Partner with the market research team and teams across central ops to understand the rider perspective on pricing, value proposition awareness, driver quality and help drive long term platform service quality improvement
- Analytics. Track key analytics and provide actionable information and insights to influence marketing strategy moving forward
Job Requirements
What You'll Need:
- Startup/all-hands-on-deck approach
- Minimum 3 years of Marketing / business analytics / consulting / applied economics / advertising or related experience
- Scary-good at articulating the essence of products and the value they create. You can develop a strong messaging hierarchy and effective content strategy. You can also play copywriter
- Master storyteller: You can craft a compelling narrative across different channels - you know how to match the message to the medium
- Demonstrated leadership of leading initiatives and projects at your organization
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize in a constantly-changing work environment
- Stellar Excel and SQL knowledge and a passion for data needed
- Python, R or any other scripting language is a plus
- Direct experience in a similar role is a plus
