Job Description
Learning instructor engages in the delivery of training programs by applying active learning techniques to transfer knowledge, skills and/or induce a change in behavior, attitude and experience of adult learner audience attending these programs.
The learning instructor is a category-specific job. Every learning instructor could be specialized in specific management systems up to three categories maximum i.e. QHSE, FSMS, SSM, etc.
The learning instructor is a frontline member of the organization who works with learners to provide unprecedented learning experience and works with training business manager to suggest amendments to courseware materials to make improvements.
- Providing appropriate, intellectually stimulating instructional presentations in training events and taking into consideration the unique abilities of each learners
- Suggesting changes to courseware materials and other related documents to enhance and improve it
- Developing a mix of formal and informal training channels to enrich training delivery
- Ensuring that the training environment is appropriate and suitable for the learners
- Delivering training events in variety of modes i.e. public, in-house or virtual and a variety of methods i.e. case studies, role plays, focus groups, etc.
- Identifying/assessing learners’ needs and if necessary adapt course content and delivery style to meet these needs.
- Developing a scheme of work and lesson plan for a training event and communicating this plan along with event objectives to learners
- Discussing of learning outcomes with learners as course proceed
- Enabling and encouraging learner’s participation during class sessions with equal opportunity in participation
- Managing adult learner behaviors during the training event by establishing ground rules and creating an adult learning environment
- Ensuring that all required course paperwork is available, filled accordingly and submitted on time to the training coordinator i.e. attendance sheet, evaluation, exams and assignments.
- Ensuring proper and non-discriminatory marking of learners’ assignments and exams
- Working with training business manager in capturing and formulating new training needs emerging in the market
- Working as a role expert figure and presenting the company image in appropriate manner
- Participating in peer review and train-the-trainer enhancement sessions when needed.
